Biography
Elaine Crauder is an award-winning short story writer. Ten of her stories are in literary journals. She won The Westmoreland Arts & Heritage Festival's Westmoreland Award. A dozen of her stories are contest finalists or semi-finalists.
Elaine loved all those horse books she read as a tween--checking one out of the school library at the beginning of the day and returning it at the end of the same day. Sometimes, her short stories include horses.
Always she writes about people coming to terms with unexpected--and often unwelcome--change. Even so her stories are filled with humor.
Bella, her cockapoo, was her faithful writing companion and a welcome distraction while Elaine worked on a novel. Now that Bella has gone to wherever dear pups go, Elaine is on her own for writing and editing her novel.
